TOPIC: Underfloor Air Distribution

This program will review the performance and design parameters for an underfloor air distribution system (UFAD). Equipment performance, selection and sizing will be discussed. Finally, some tradeoffs and common practices will be reviewed.

Speaker Bio:

Currently the Vice-President, engineering for Nailor Industries. He has been in the air distribution industry for over 50 years and is a Life Member of ASHRAE. He co-chaired the ASHRAE Design Guide Variable Volume Air Terminals and is currently co-chair of the ASHRAE Design Guide Air Distribution Systems. He has authored several articles for the ASHRAE Journal and other publications as well as participating in several Handbook chapters. Mr. Faris built the first fan powered VAV terminal units in 1974 and introduced electronically commutated motors in those products in 1997. He also helped to establish the systems efficiency program with AHRI.
