TOPIC: The Properties of Air

Learning Objectives:

This talk will review the fundamentals of air, focusing on physical and thermodynamic properties of dry and moist air.

We will get into psychrometrics and visit the psychrometric chart. We will walk through reading, charting, and understanding the chart. The talk will conclude with examples of the change in air properties during heating and cooling.

Speaker Bio:

Andy Hayes has over 15 years’ experience in various HVAC roles and industries. His career has covered a wide range of development and leadership positions in hydronic heating and cooling as well as refrigerant based air conditioning.

Andy has a strong heat transfer and fluid dynamics foundation holding a Master’s of Science in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Andy is a Sales Engineer with Hahn Mason Air Systems, Inc.
